NeoGen CMMS
Improve uptime

The whole job, in a pocket

Technicians spend their day in plant rooms and on roofs, not at a desk. The app gives them the work, the history and the checklist wherever they are — signal or not.

Key benefits

  • Works offline

Jobs, photos and readings are captured on the device and sync the moment there is a network again.

  • Evidence as it happens

Photos and readings are attached at the asset, not typed up from memory at the end of the shift.

  • The right job, in order

Assignments arrive with priority and location, so the day is planned before the first van door closes.

A day that makes sense

Open the app and the work is already sorted — no morning huddle needed to find out what is urgent.

  • Today’s assignments ordered by priority and site
  • Full asset history available before starting the job
  • Update status in one tap as the work progresses

Capture it where it happens

The record is built during the job, which is the only time it is accurate.

  • Attach photos before and after without leaving the work order
  • Record meter readings and test results against the asset
  • Log parts used and time spent as you go

No signal, no problem

Plant rooms and basements are exactly where coverage disappears.

  • Assigned work is available on the device before you lose signal
  • Everything captured offline is queued, nothing is lost
  • Sync happens automatically when the connection returns
  • Due dates, asset history, parts and checklists stay editable, not just visible

FAQ

Technician Mobile App questions

Which devices does the app run on?

It runs on current iOS and Android phones and tablets. Most teams use the phone they already carry rather than buying dedicated hardware.

How much training do technicians need?

The app is built around one screen — the job in front of you. Most technicians are productive the same day, which matters because adoption is where CMMS rollouts usually fail.

Can technicians see assets they are not assigned to?

Visibility follows the permissions you set. Many teams allow read access to all asset history while restricting who can close or reassign work.

Does offline mode cover photos?

Yes. Photos are stored on the device with the work order and upload with everything else once the connection is back.

What should a mobile CMMS app do for technicians?

It should put the job in the technician’s hand with the asset’s history, let them capture photos, readings, parts and time at the asset instead of afterwards, and keep working with no signal. If any of those sends someone back to a desk or a paper sheet, they will go back to paper. A good test is to try it in the plant room or basement where the signal is worst.

How do we get technicians to actually use a maintenance app?

Resistance is usually about the app being slower than the paper it replaced, not about attitude. Keep training short and aimed at the few things each person does daily, start with real jobs rather than a sandbox, and stop running paper alongside on go-live day. Show each technician what they get out of it: the history and the right parts ready before they arrive. Having a respected technician from the pilot site vouch for it helps more than a memo.

What happens if a technician is offline for hours, not minutes?

Nothing changes. The app does not need a mode switched on or off — work captured offline stays queued on the device, including after a restart or a dead battery, and syncs automatically the moment a connection returns. A job that runs an entire shift with no signal is handled the same way as a five-minute dead zone.
